This popular annual event will be held at the village hall where a wide selection of locally grown hardy border plants, shrubs and colourful annuals will be on sale at very reasonable prices. Refreshments, including delicious home made cakes, will also be available.
Gloucestershire's renowned fine art auctioneers, Chorley’s, will be holding an Antiques Roadshow offering local people the chance to value their items of interest and show them off to friends. Chorley’s team of experts will consist of Simon Chorley and John Harvey who have over 80 years experience in the business between them. Thomas Jenner-Fust, an expert in silver and jewelry, will join them together with Frances Robinson an expert in 20th Century works of art. Most areas of expertise are covered but do bring things along that may test the experts. There will be a small charge of £3 per valuation and light refreshments will be available throughout. Proceeds in aid of the village hall. For further information, please visit kemerton.org.uk and www.chorleys.com
Kemerton Court Lawn has kindly been made available by the Darby family for a village get together on Sunday 3rd September - this is to take the form of a ‘Garden Party’ – there will be a glass of Prosecco (or Elderflower cordial) and various nibbles – it will be an early evening 5.30 to 7.30pm event so everyone can come – face painting for the littles to be kept busy, football/rounders in the distance for the more game and general chatting in the evening sun for everyone else (Indian Summer has been booked!). Fancy dress parade for the children if they fancy it and Mad Hatters (Best Hats) competition for the adults, rumours of a Ukele band and a raffle – or just a quiet meander around the very beautiful walled garden prosecco in hand. We thought it would be lovely to have a get together and a catch up.
Few more details to follow but tickets will be available for £4 (in advance) from the village shop or £5 on the day – all proceeds will go to the Village Hall once we have paid for the cheese and pineapple cubes and cocktail sticks! More Prosecco and Elderflower will be available to buy.
